How Curcumin is helpful in Alzheimers Disease

Alzheimers Disease

Alzheimer’s disease is a traumatic neurodegenerative disease affecting around 10% of Americans over the age of 65. Research shows that the rate of Alzheimer’s disease in Asia is comparatively lower and the scientists believe that the reason behind it is the daily use of curcumin by Asians.

Curcumin is an active phytochemical found in the turmeric spice it has been studied extensively in the past few decades as it has great antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties that are found to relieve the symptoms of many health conditions like arthritis, certain kinds of cancer and heart disease.

Turmeric is an essential part of the daily diet in Indian and other Asian countries as it is a key ingredient in curries and other Asian dishes. Due to this, it is estimated that Indians consume about 125 mg of curcumin everyday.

Curcumin is not absorbed completely by the body but when consumed in combination with black pepper and for animal fats as in the case of curries its bioavailability increases many folds.

Having said so it is just a correlation made by the scientists and the fact that people in India experience lower cases of Alzheimer’s disease doesn’t always mean that curcumin is the main reason behind it. Research studies have found many strong evidences that suggest that consuming daily dose of curcumin regularly could help prevent Alzheimer’s disease and also reverse its symptoms in already diagnosed patients.

A paper published in the year 2008 stated that while the cause of Alzheimer’s is not completely clear there is a lot of evidence which indicates towards a number of factors that may contribute to the development of Alzheimer’s disease.

Some of these factors are oxidative stress, free radicals and flared up inflammatory reactions. In many studies of different scales curcumin has been shown to fight all of these factors. These studies going to prove that curcumin seems to improve the overall memory in Alzheimer’s patients.

Having said so, there is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease and more research studies need to be done on the effectiveness of curcumin to cure this disease. So far, over 2000 studies that have been done on curcumin none of them have found to have any negative side effects by taking a daily dose of curcumin and many studies have even shown promising evidence in the role of curcumin to promote wellness and health which includes the great boost the immune system along with better brain and heart health.

In order to get the daily required dose of curcumin, you can make a fresh curry every day are simply scoop out curcumin from a bottle of Bagdara farms.

The statements have not been evaluated by the food and drug administration the products are not intended for diagnosis diagnosing treating curing preventing any disease.
